Yes, it’s considered a weed. It will appear in flower beds and gardens early in the year. Reproduction is exclusively by seed, so it can be controlled by pulling it out early before seeds form, as soon as it appears in late winter or early spring. Make sure to pull it out completely, as it will grow back if the taproot is not removed.
